The middle school houses the 12 – 15 year olds, and aligns in traditional terms with years 7, 8 and 9. The aim of this space is to offer a specialised environment that bridges the gap between primary school and high school. Our Montessori Middle School program recognises adolescence as a pivotal stage marked by social development, critical thinking, and self-discovery. Located in a natural setting conducive to learning, our Middle School offers hands-on learning experiences, focus on the individual and an understanding of the vulnerability of our adolescents in the challenges they face in everyday life. Lessons are conducted in open classrooms that promote movement and cooperative learning, support in transitioning towards the Cambridge curriculum and at the same time, still maintaining the essence of Montessori education.

We choose all of our educators carefully, but perhaps a little more stringently for this phase, as we truly believe that adolescents need relatable adults who can set clear parameters for the rules of engagement in all classes. As Albert Einstein said, “Precious things are conveyed to the younger generation through personal contact with those who teach.”
