Toddler, Preschool and Primary School

An amazing learning environment

Toddler and Preschool

18 months – 6 years

Our toddler and preschool classes are beautifully equipped with Montessori materials, embodying the true essence of a ‘Casa dei Bambini’ – a house for children. During these formative years, we focus on the holistic development of each child. While early literacy is possible and often achieved, it is not our sole focus.

Play, creative expression, a connection to nature, and a love of learning are at the heart of our activities. Developing healthy social skills, contributing to the classroom community by making orange juice to share, or raking leaves on the playground, equips children with essential interpersonal skills, setting them up for success as they move into their primary years.

Connection to nature is a cornerstone of the Montessori Method. Our children interact with ponies, garden in the greenhouse, prepare their own snacks, and exercise on the playground throughout the school day. This freedom fosters independence and supports physical, social, emotional, and intellectual growth.

We also believe in a strong parent-teacher partnership during this critical time. All our preschool teachers hold both Montessori and Early Childhood qualifications, and more importantly, they possess a genuine desire to nurture each child’s true potential.

Primary School

6 – 12 years

Our Montessori program for children aged 6-12 years builds on the solid foundation established in the earlier years, fostering a deeper level of intellectual curiosity, social responsibility, and independent learning. This period, known as the “second plane of development,” is characterised by a growing interest in the wider world and a heightened ability to think abstractly.

In our classrooms, students engage with advanced Montessori materials designed to spark their imagination and promote critical thinking. Subjects such as mathematics, language, science, history, geography and biology are explored in depth, with an emphasis on interconnected learning. This integrated approach helps children understand the relationships between different areas of knowledge and how they apply to the real world.

Collaborative projects and group work are integral to the 6-12 environment, allowing students to develop strong communication and teamwork skills. These experiences teach them how to plan, execute, and present their work, fostering a sense of responsibility and accomplishment.

A connection to nature continues to be a vital component of our curriculum. Children participate in outdoor education, gardening projects, and environmental stewardship activities, which reinforce their understanding of ecological systems and their role in protecting our planet.

Our teachers, who are highly trained in Montessori philosophy and methods, guide students through this stage with a focus on nurturing each child’s intellectual and emotional growth. They provide individualised support and encourage self-directed learning, helping children become confident, motivated learners.

As students progress through our program, they develop not only academically but also as compassionate, well-rounded individuals. They leave our school equipped with the skills and mindset needed to thrive in their future educational endeavours and in life.
